International Master’s Programme in Physics of Complex Systems

The International Master's Programme in Physics of Complex Systems is jointly promoted by ICTP, SISSA, Politecnico di Torino and a European consortium involving Universities Pierre & Marie Curie (Paris 6), Paris Diderot (Paris 7), Paris-Sud (Paris 11) and the École Normale Supérieure at Cachan.

The aim is to shape professionals and/or potential researchers able to jointly apply knowledge and methodologies from Modern Physics, Applied Mathematics, Information Engineering and Computational Biology to the Analysis, mMdeling and Simulation of Complex Systems.

What about the programme?
The two-year programme is organized in three semesters: a first semester in Trieste (at SISSA and ICTP); a second semester in Turin at the Politecnico di Torino; a third semester in Paris at a consortium involving Universities Pierre & Marie Curie (Paris 6), Paris Diderot (Paris 7), Paris-Sud (Paris 11) and the École Normale Supérieure at Cachan.

A fourth semester is devoted to a European multidisciplinary spring school, where students can choose between various short courses and a research internship.
Participants may also be required to take part in ongoing activities at ICTP.

How to Apply?
The Programme is open to young, qualified graduates from all countries that are members of the United Nations, UNESCO or IAEA.

The entry qualification is a degree equivalent to a B.Sc. (but an M.Sc. is preferable) in Physics, Mathematics, and Information Engineering.

The selection of candidates will be based on their university record and academic recommendations. Fluency in both spoken and written English is required.

Deadline is usuallyscheduled in March every year. Applicants should apply through the following website.

Things to know
