What is SPID and when it is asked? 

First of all SPID entitles the access to all online services of the local and national Public Administration with a single Digital Identity (username and password) that can be used from computers, tablets and smartphones. 

SPID can be asked to authorised digital identity provider by everyone aged more than 18 years old and resident in Italy. 

To request SPID credentials you need: a valid Italian identity document (identity card or passport), your health card, an email address and a mobile phone number you normally use.
