Non EU/EEA citizen willing to stay in Italy for more than 90 days, must apply for a permit of stay to legally stay there

Residence permit conversion

Students and researchers can convert their permits for seeking job or work purposes, when the conditions are met.

Declaration of presence

Foreigners who stay in Italy for less than 90 days for study, research, tourism, business or visit purposes may be required to declare their presence

Residence registration

EU and Non Eu citizens should register when staying more than 90 days. It is required for registering with the SSN, exchanging driving license, enrolling children at school,etc.

Travelling in and out Italy and Schengen area

There are some restriction when travelling in and out of Italy while waiting for the issue/renewal of the residence permit
