It applies to Non Eu family members willing to live with their Eu national or Italian citizen family member, regularly living in Italy (i.e. registered with Anagrafe office).
The electronic residence card is valid for 5 years for the first issue and for minors under 18 years. It is valid for 10 years for those who have acquired the right to permanent residence (minors excluded).
Application must be sent by Post to local Questura by submitting:
- 2 passport-size photographs on white background;
- copies of marriage certificate issued by the competent authority no more than 6 months before the application/birth certificate (in case of children reunion);
- iscrizione anagrafica (anagrafe registration) or self declaration of domicile in Italy;
- cessione fabbricato;
- revenue stamp (marca da bollo) of €16;
- copies of each family members’ passports (visa and personal data only)
- Form Mod 209 Modulo 1 filled out (downolad the instructions)
N.B. Certificates or any other documents issued by a foreign authority other than Italian need to be translated in Italian and legalised by the Italian Embassy to be accepted once in Italy. Documents with apostille are legally recognised in Italy provided that they are translated in Italian. No need to legalise.
